Bought a bunch of parts today...list after the jump
Here's what I have coming my way:
Shift knob: it's not stock, but simple and tasteful.
Battery hold down, OEM
Intake, OEM
Rear wiper arm, OEM
Side marker lights, OEM
Radio head unit, OEM
Washer nozzles and gaskets, OEM replacement
Valve cover gasket replacement kit
Looks like I'll have plenty to do. When I do the valve cover gasket I'm going to repaint the valve cover as well, it really needs it. I also intend to replace the front tires, which are the wrong size, with the OEM tire size like the rear. I still need to find a drivers side taillight and a wheel center cap or two.
I'm loving the car. It won me over in no time. It's a joy to drive, it's adorably small, and cool to show people because it's pretty unique compared to the cars of today. I'm really excited about getting this thing cleaned up and bringing it out to car shows in a few months

Had a '91 CRX Si (white) ... this brings back many memories. Please - photos of everything as your fix it up.

Refinishing those centercaps shouldn't be too hard also, as long as the Honda logo is indented.

Oh - and that seam at the front part of the driver's side door - is it OK? Has it been hit?

You're quite fortunate to find a relatively unmolested one.

Dang I thinking of build a clean stock looking CRX myself. I hope all goes well with your project

Yep! It was repainted, and it must have been done cheaply. The paint is great, but I don't think they did a very good job putting it back together. Shouldn't be too hard to fix everything except for the missing seals around the rear windows.
They also plugged the holes that would have been in place for the side moulding...at least I think there were holes for it
Fortunately it still looks good without the black band.

It is indented. I was thinking about just reconditioning them, I need to find paint that matches. I was also thinking about plastidipping the wheels white: they are fine for a 25 year old car, but it's a 25 year old car so there's some wear

There's a lot of gaps around the car. It may have been hit at some point but I don't think so. It was repainted and I don't think it was put back together all that well. I'll be considering a partial tear down at some point to try and adjust everything.

White would look pretty nice. You could mask off the Honda logo and somehow manage to do them in silver also if you don't want something that could potentially get fucked up beyond repair.

That's what's missing! I knew something was different, but anyway it may be attached by adhesives? Not sure really.

I would paint the H red first, then fill it with vasoline before painting the rest of the cap I think. It also wouldn't be terribly difficult to tape off. My biggest concern is matching the color of the wheels

You could just sand down and do the entire thing possibly?

Yeah, that's another option. Plastidip would be an easy way to get them uniform as a stop gap.
For now I moved the bad one over to the passenger side so I don't have to see it :P

Haha, or you could just go no centercaps mode.

Would a LoJack be a terrible idea? Of course, you have your truck parked behind it, that's a good start!

Meh, they look good on there, I don't think the wheels look very good without them

That's true. It would look a hell of a lot better with them on. How long do you plan on keeping the car?

Yeah I think they have holes with little plastic clips for the side trim strips. Weird, you could put it on with the strongest 3m VHB tape, my Datsun emblems are currently held on by that and we use it at work. I always have a Honda to commute in. I want to go to Canada and get an Aerodeck. These are hard to find unmolested, and man can they molest these!

I was thinking about plastidipping the bumper pieces then sticking on the moulding like you said. I may try to find a junk CRX somewhere and take them off

Until fall at least is my plan, but I'll probably start putting for sale signs on it in the summer.
Of course by then I'll have completely fallen in love with the little fucker and I'll keep it forever

I doubt the replacement trim kit is very expensive. Although the rubber bumper strips for the chrome bumper on a 240Z runs you $60, each....

I'm seeing pieces on eBay for the doors at $70 each. Not worth it for that much...
